A Low noise, stable negative supply regulator for grid bias (fixed bias) for your valves/tubes.
Configurable from -20V to -140V output, with a suitable adjustment range.
Cooling: The Regulator power transistors are cooled by mounting to a heatsink - or you can use some amplifier-chassis or metalwork for cooling.
Input Voltage: Please add your own rectified DC (rectifiers + capacitors) - these components are not supplied - but there is another kit for Raw DC:
Raw DC Kit: If you need a solution for the Bias Raw DC, there is now a PCB with ALL the parts available to make a voltage-doubler Raw DC. Find it here:
PCB Size and Mounting: The PCB outline: (X) = 70mm (Y) = 52mm.
Mounting on 4 Holes. Hole Spacing (X) = 62.0mm; (Y) = 43.0mm
Operation: The Bias Regulator V5 takes rectified DC input, and delivers quiet and stable negative voltage. It is a true negative regulator: input and output POSITIVE are both connected to the system ground. The exact output can be adjusted with the on-board trim pot.
DC stability: Better than 1%.
Ultra-Low Noise. Typically 10µV rms, 20Hz .. 20kHz, for a -80V configuration.
Measurable distortion: -147dB for 78Vpp applied to the regulator at -114V out, using a grid resistor of 39kΩ [ie: ca. 50nV].
Documentation for the Regulators. The manual is a live Google doc; it is updated every 5 minutes.
